If you’re looking for encouragement, direction, and a little fun

I’m the coach you’ve been looking for

Hi! I’m Becca.

Does this sound familiar?

You’re sitting in the OB’s office, newly pregnant, searching for any kind of advice you can find on if you can keep logging those miles, racking up your splat points, or mastering your favorite olympic lift.

Or you’ve had your precious babe...and now you spend your days reheating cold coffee and your nights (OK...late nights) scrolling through an endless black-hole of internet advice on how to get your body back.

There’s a million Instagram coaches & Pinterest articles giving you advice on how to become a “fit mom”. With all the noise in the pregnancy and postpartum fitness world, it’s harder than ever to know who to trust.

And I want you to know, it doesn't have to be that way

I got tired of it, too. I was always second-guessing myself. Trying to “listen to my body” without exactly knowing what I was listening for. Worrying that I wasn’t modifying correctly, or that I would do something wrong to harm my baby. I was tired of pinning articles about getting your pre-baby body back (in 21 days, of course). I wanted to focus on this new life growing inside of me or snuggling a just-bathed swaddled baby.

I felt alone and worried that I would never feel like myself again.

So I became the coach I needed. I know you need me, too.

TBH..I’ve been exercising foreverrrrr.

I am probably the only girl you know who personally requested to have an “Aerobics Party” for her 10th birthday at the women’s-only gym my mom was working out at at the time. I was always in a gymnastics or tumbling gym. Once I was in high school I started going to some step aerobics classes with my mom (yep, Britney Spears mic and everything). I was bitten by the group-fitness bug and I loved it so much! From there I rolled through many different types of fitness, from personal training and strength building to running, to kickboxing, to Crossfit. You name it, I've probably tried it at least once.

One of the running jokes in our house is that when asked the rhetorical question “what would you do if you won 1 million dollars….”, my classic answer is to buy a membership to every type of gym in town so I could do a different workout every day.

I was thrown a curveball when I sat at my OB’s office, 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I confidently told her I did Crossfit 5 days per week and she gave me a round-about reply that basically ended with...I would stop if I was you.

UMMM…Yikes. Now what?

I knew there had to be a better way. A way to keep doing what I loved and to be safe for myself and my baby. And based on the number of women from my gym that have asked for my advice, I know you need it too.

So I did what I do best...I decided I’d teach myself. I’ve been a Crossfit Level 1 trainer for 6 years, so I had plenty of background knowledge I could depend on. I researched like crazy for my first 2 pregnancies, modifying our gym’s workouts as I went. I looked up pelvic floor PT exercises after my baby was born and started doing them every day. But I went too fast. I’m lucky that I didn’t have any major setbacks, but I didn’t have a good plan and definitely didn’t have any grace for myself as I transitioned into motherhood. After working out through my second pregnancy and the postpartum period, I had a lot of women from my gym asking for advice for themselves during their own pregnancies and postpartum transitions.

I decided it was time to ditch the anecdotal “here’s what worked for me…” and get some real knowledge.

I Completed Brianna Battles Course and became the only Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism Coach in the state of Mississippi.

To sum it up, I’m basically obsessed with reminding women that they don’t have to give up on themselves. I want you to care for your body well so you can love those around you. I want you to have the confidence to exercise while pregnant that I did not. I want you to walk into the postpartum season with courage and hope.

I want to make sure you know you’re not alone.

After college in the riverside town of Memphis, Tennessee, I fell in love with a pilot. We now live in the booming metropolis of Jackson, Mississippi. We love our people here and are continually surprised by the Lord’s kindness to us in this little town. We’ve had 3 kids in a little more than 3 years so I’ve spent the better part of life since 2017 pregnant or postpartum. I know what it’s like to start over, I know what it’s like to miss getting up on a Saturday and tying up my running shoes and heading out for some time alone. I know what it’s like to feel a bit like a foreigner in your own body.

But I’m thankful every day for the opportunity to care for my body well in this season.

To prioritize my health so that I can care for the ones I love the most.

I’m here for you too. To provide you with the education you need & to empower you during pregnancy and after you have the baby.

You’ve made it this far…Let’s get it.
